About and editorial policy
SMID Research is an independently maintained, public and unrated evidence library for undercovered Singapore and Asian small and mid-cap companies. Its job is to make the company record easier to verify, analyse, compare and update.
For investors who want to read a small company’s own filings before relying on anyone’s view of it.
What the public product is
Each company page assembles a scope-appropriate mix of retained filings, reported history, derived tables, external evidence, dated events and open questions. Corrections sections, assurance notes and dated next events are present only where the page carries them; current coverage is disclosed on the quality dashboard. This public-unrated profile carries no proprietary rating, fair value, price target, expected return or recommendation. Private working materials are not part of the public product and are not offered or distributed.
How coverage is selected and funded
Coverage selection is editorial. A company is suitable when primary filings are obtainable, the record can be made meaningfully more usable, and the work can be maintained without overstating freshness. Sector, exchange and company size do not guarantee inclusion. Access is free. As of 25 August 2026 there is no subscription, paywall, paid coverage, sponsored placement, affiliate or referral arrangement, donation programme, issuer-paid research or other site monetisation. Any future change would require an explicit policy and page-level disclosure before it appears.
What “maintained” does and does not promise
The coverage register identifies the information cut-off on every public page. “Monitoring” means the page remains in the maintained library; it does not mean every later filing has already been processed. No turnaround-time promise is published until operating capacity has been measured. Material source gaps are named on the company page.
Evidence, derivation and AI use
The methodology defines the site-wide R/D/G/E/O/F evidence grammar. AI may assist extraction, reconciliation, drafting and testing. It is not treated as a source. Load-bearing claims should remain traceable to retained evidence, and derived figures should identify their inputs or method. The public quality-controls dashboard reports observable publication controls while separating them from accuracy measures that have not yet been independently tested.
Corrections and challenges
Substantive corrections are dated on the relevant company page. Each company page includes a private form for a question, source challenge or factual correction; submissions are not published automatically. The most useful challenge identifies the exact claim, the source URL or document, the relevant page, and the proposed correction. General corrections can also be sent through Contact. Do not send confidential or inside information.
Independence and limits
The library is general information, not personalised financial advice. It does not publish issuer-sponsored conclusions or hidden corrections. Because this publication profile is public and unrated, it does not request or publish an author biography, personal jurisdiction or regulatory status, legal-entity profile, or personal holdings/conflicts declaration. If ratings, valuation, targets, expected return or recommendations are ever introduced publicly, that would be a different publication profile requiring a fresh authority and disclosure review before release.
Continuity
If a page can no longer be maintained, its state should move to archived, withdrawn or unlisted rather than silently presenting old work as current. The public register, change record and downloadable catalogues are generated from the same canonical manifest used by site discovery and runtime features.
